Many people wisely seek to eliminate or minimize
caffeine from their diet. Caffeine has many known negative health effects (as
well as a few positive ones such as for endurance athletes). But how do we
balance this with the recommendation to drink Green Tea for its wonderful
polyphenols, or catechins, which can help lower cholesterol, improve lipid
metabolism, guard against cancer, and fight bacterial infection? Decaffeinated
Green Tea is one solution, although the decaffeination process removes some of
the catechins along with the caffeine. The answer is Rooibos Tea, the only naturally caffeine-free leaf which has an abundance of those same wonderful catechins. In addition, Rooibos Tea, which comes from South Africa, is naturally low in tannic acid -- making it a very smooth drink indeed. Order it economically on the Web from http://www.republicoftea.com. Explore by item number, 30584. Be sure to let it steep for at least 4 minutes. Since it never gets bitter, due to its low tannic acid content, you can steep it even longer or even boil it in the pot for a stronger but still pleasant-tasting brew. May you be filled with goodness, peace, and joy. Bob Tschannen-Moran LifeTrek Coaching International 121 Will Scarlet Lane Williamsburg, VA 23185-5043 U.S.A.
